Thank you for visiting the website for the Oregon Chapter of the United States Lighthouse Society.
To assist with keeping Oregon's Lighthouse monuments of history alive, as well as their legends and lore, the Oregon Chapter of the United States Lighthouse Society was established on April 24, 1994 in Newport, Oregon.
The specific purposes of the Oregon Chapter are to:
1) support the United States Lighthouse Society, our parent organization.
2) assist with the restoration and preservation of historic Oregon lighthouses and Lightships.
3) provide financial assistance for Lighthouse groups.
4) provide labor for the physical preservation of lighthouses and lightships as needed.
5) serve as a means of education and communication among all those who care about the lighthouses.
6) provide to members and the general public periodic news with historical and current information about Oregon lighthouses and related activities.
The Oregon Chapter gathers for meetings four times a year. Meetings consist of social gatherings held at various lighthouse locations along the Oregon Coast in addition to neighboring lighthouses in Washington and California. The meetings may also include guest speakers and special lighthouse events. A Chapter Newsletter is published four times a year.
We hope you enjoy your visit to our website and return often to view information regarding our upcoming Chapter meetings and locations.
